Thank you for your interest in applying for a Compass project. The deadline for project applications
is June 30, 2008.
As a reminder, Compass requires clients to meet the following criteria:
- Have 501(c) 3 status
- Have a minimum of three paid staff members
- Have a minimum budget of $750,000
- Provide services that focus specifically on the Greater Washington community
- Does not promote a specific religion, or religious or political beliefs
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS: Before you begin this application, we recommend you view the questions in
the word document here. Some questions require detailed, carefully thought-out responses. Viewing the questions
offline will help you prepare before starting the application.
Once you begin this application, only push the "done" button when the application is complete. If you push the "done"
button before you are finished, you will need to start over. The safest way to preserve your answers is to prepare them
offline, and then cut and paste into the application when you are prepared to complete the application in one sitting.
PROCESS: In July, Compass representatives will contact and interview the ED and Board Chair of organizations
that meet our basic criteria. Compass will announce final selections by the end of August. Project Leaders, recruited in
September, work with clients in October and November to develop the project scope and agree on a letter of engagement. Teams
will be formed, trained and their work will begin in earnest in December with projects completed in May and June.
Please mark your calendars for the evening of Thursday, October 2 for the Project Launch event where prospective volunteers
find out more about our newly selected clients and projects.
