As a COMPASS Project Leader, you will shape a project plan, sustain the momentum of your project, ensure that project
objectives are achieved, and coordinate the client relationship. Project Leaders will receive support and training
from the COMPASS board - so you would not be alone in your efforts - and can anticipate spending an average of 15 to
20 hours per month for the duration of the project, which averages 4 to 6 months.
The ideal Project Leader has a moderate travel schedule, is comfortable with project management and client management
responsibilities, and is able and willing to coordinate team interactions via email and periodic meetings (every 3 to
4 weeks), often in the evenings. Project Team Leaders are the "strongest link" in the COMPASS organization and
ensure the smooth delivery of valuable results to the client. While not a requirement, prior consulting and/or nonprofit
experience is a substantial benefit for Project Leaders.
COMPASS offers a unique opportunity for MBAs to channel their talents and training into community service for maximum
community benefit. At the same time, volunteers have a chance to work on interesting, high impact projects with smart
and committed fellow alumni. Simply put, the work is fun, interesting, interactive, and meaningful.
